During setup for an Encounter or Journey, simply check the player counter/potency legend on the potency slot at the top-right corner of your Unointed's (your in-game character) dashboard and adjust their potency accordingly.
For example, if you play using only Marica and Lambik, you’ll see that they each have 4 potency in a 2-player game. If in your next session you want to introduce another player, controlling Groanax, following the same process adjusts both Marica's and Lambik's potency to 3, while Groanax's potency is 4 in a 3-player game.
Any Unointed not chosen by a player are not used, though they are assumed to be close enough nearby to make narrative interjections.
It is unlikely (but possible) that an in-game effect interrupts your rampage turn, leaving you unable to take the 'closing' action of your rampage.
In this scenario, immediately lose one resolve, discard all brace tokens you hold, and end your turn. This mean you may not use loot items after taking your actions, and if you have a mercenary who has not yet taken their actions, they forfeit them.
Discard the tactics card containing the 'closing' action you had planned to take, as if you had taken that action.
